At Vaani Academy, the safety, dignity, and well-being of every child is our highest priority. As a responsible educational institution, we are fully committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for our children. In line with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, we have adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of child abuse or misconduct.
About the POCSO Act
The POCSO Act was enacted by the Government of India in 2012 to provide a strong legal framework for the protection of children (under 18 years) from sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and pornography. It also ensures child-friendly procedures for reporting, recording of evidence, investigation, and speedy trial of offences.
Our Commitment at Vaani Academy
To uphold the spirit of the POCSO Act, Vaani Academy has taken the following measures:
-
Child Safety Awareness: Age-appropriate awareness programs are conducted regularly to help children understand the concept of good touch and bad touch.
-
Background Checks: All staff, teaching and non-teaching, undergo strict background verification before employment.
-
Sensitization & Training: Regular training sessions are held for teachers and staff to understand their responsibilities under the POCSO Act and to identify and handle any signs of child distress or abuse.
-
Open Communication: Children are encouraged to speak freely with teachers and staff. A supportive environment is maintained where every child feels safe and heard.
-
Child Protection Committee (CPC): A committee is constituted to look into any concerns raised by children, parents, or staff. The committee ensures that all issues are handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and seriousness.
-
Designated POCSO Officer: A trained staff member is appointed as the POCSO Officer to handle and report any POCSO-related cases, if any arise.
Reporting Mechanism
If any child, parent, or staff member observes or experiences any inappropriate behavior or signs of abuse, they are encouraged to report it immediately to our POCSO Officer or any member of the Child Protection Committee. All complaints will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and seriousness.
You may also report directly to the National Child Helpline: 1098 (available 24/7).
A Safe Space to Learn and Grow
At Vaani Academy, we believe that every child deserves a joyful, safe, and empowering start to their educational journey. Our commitment to child safety goes beyond compliance—it is a core part of who we are.
